 Agent Alex Laura Cain.

Basic Information.

  • Gender: Female
  • Race: Human
  • Height: 5'10"
  • Age: 35
  • Hair: Dark red
  • Eyes: Hazel
  • Profession: Agent of the British Secret Service
  • Title: Classified.
  • Birthday: November 2nd
  • Word: Enigmatic
  • Heterosexual.

Characteristics.

  • Alex walks with a limp on her left leg, mostly disguised but visible when she's running, that she received from a gunshot wound to her ankle.
  • An extreme insomniac. Often functions on less than a half hour of sleep for a week, and, most incredibly, functions somewhat normally.
  • She has a stilted form of system integration dysfunction; sometimes she has to be talked out of fits that occur when her feet, which are the most sensitive part of her, react poorly with the texture of her socks. She will shake, grating her teeth and lost in herself. These rarely occur during cases, luckily, and they aren't documented by her bosses; she's quick to keep this under wraps.
  • Dark red hair, usually gelled back in some capacity, with clear, fair skin and a lean build. Looks somewhat like a predator, with a mildly hooked nose, and very large, clear hazel eyes. She doesn’t look unkind, exactly, and can look downright approachable, but most of the time she wears an utterly stoic expression behind wrap-around sunglasses. Her usual attire consists of dark colors and comfortable black combat foots, and she’s almost always armed.
  • She has an uneasy professional relationship with Mara Balton.

Family.

  • Paul Cain (father)
  • Janice Cain (mother)
  • Derek Cain (brother)

History.

Born into a normal, working-class family, Alex was nearly married off before she was actually of age, her parents adoring of the ‘nice young man’ that had taken a fancy to her. He was actually a foreigner who was there to kidnap young women to sell them off to the highest bidder; Alex was out late with him one night, slightly drunk, at the age of nineteen, and he attempted to kidnap her. She gave him a beating he would never forget. After that she resolved to help keep others safe. After her outstanding early career, she joined the organization that has steadily promoted her since.

Personality.

Alex is disconcerting in that, in any specific moment on the job, she is utterly and completely motivated by that singular thing. Little else will penetrate her mind, although, a little scarily, she unconsciously logs these things away and can recall each and every one when the job is finished. She has a naturally intense personality, and the weight of her gaze is sometimes a little too much for people to take. Thus, sometimes people give her information just to make her go away. Alex has been known to have a sarcastic sense of humor, but on few occasions; people, for the most part, trouble her social life because she sees them as things that need to be protected. It’s the agent in her. With the few friends she can tolerate, she is still extremely protective and watchful of them.

Likes/dislikes.

Likes television, writing mystery novels (publishes under the alias of ‘J. Heinbeck’, who was an old english professor of hers who was murdered), reading, keeping up on technology, firearms. Dislikes people getting hurt, criminals, disregard/disrespect for the law, sexism, alcohol, drugs.

Fears.

Failing in her duty to protect someone, and overlooking something obvious on a case that costs her big time.
