Characteristics.

• Carnby’s mode of transport is a motorcycle, a jet black Triumph Speed Triple. She doesn’t live in a specific location, but has started a watch collection of sorts from all her worldwide travel. Similarily, she has several purchases she keeps in a warehouse: a Ferrari, a Jaguar, a couple hundred books and assorted junk from her early years that she inherited. She has a collection of books all about suicide -- from morbid interest.
• Lean, tanned, ‘dirty’ blonde hair, light blue eyes, dresses very plainly and often in tan or grey. Other than some impressive muscle and strength, she’s not all that indistinguishable from the crowd, although she’s usually covered in dirt on her time off, as she loves to dirt bike.

History.

Raised by her father, as her mother died when she was five, Carnby grew up in the Australian outback with her father and uncle and their fish farm. When she was seven a snake got into the pool and tried to strangle her, but Carnby proved herself a vicious opponent and bit the snake’s head off before her father managed to free her from its coils. Her uncle, Rick, a semi-retired hunter, taught her to shoot when she was a teenager. She did random jobs for their spread-out neighbors until the age of twenty, when her uncle killed her father over a land dispute; he then turned the gun on himself but only succeeded in putting himself into a coma. Carnby left Australia, vehemently denying she had any family, and took up a job as a mercenary. Over the years she’s worked with many, many governments and many private citizens on legal and illegal jobs.

Her stay with the Hadonov Corporation came about when she met Rane Sparke, the brilliant inventor. The two got along very well, with a romantic tension of sorts -- although it was doubtful of Rane ever got that far outside her own head. She watched Rane invent many of her key creations, including the living Manticore computer system (who later identified her as a kind of strange sibling). She also watched Rane die in her arms when the inventor was assassinated.

Personality.

Carnby is extremely courageous and adventurous, a trait she inherited from her father. She lives life at a somewhat fast pace, although she does enjoy winding down every once in a while. Very distant at times, she finds relating to other, ‘normal’ people difficult but doesn’t make an effort; she rarely takes the time to explain her thinking to any companion with her. On the darker side, Carnby can become very impatient if a person can’t immediately grasp what she explains, and likes to start arguments if only to think. Her sense of humor can be somewhat crude and/or morbid. Sometimes her frequent swearing is a turnoff for people.
