History.
Dennis’ mother was raped by a vampire when she was seventeen. She yielded two twins from this union, Dennis and Billy, who she hated immediately—but unfortunately her morals would not allow her to give them up. Her parents could hardly afford to feed all of them but they somehow managed, as Dora soon fell very ill and could not work. The happiest memory Dennis has from this time is playing with the family’s golden retriever, Glass. At the age of twenty, Dora met a man named Jansen and later married him, and this meant she didn’t have to work so hard anymore. But Jansen resented the twins because they resembled a painful part of his beloved wife’s past, and he soon began to exact harsh punishments on them if they acted up. The twins reacted differently to this treatment: Billy, rebellious, began to act out more, while Dennis, the meek and quiet one, just grew ever silent. Not a year after the marriage, Dora gave birth to a girl, Laina, and this child she was affectionate of. While the twins were suddenly on the backburner, she was being given attention that they never had, and it culminated in a very ugly attitude shift in Billy. He acted out worse than ever. Dennis, for his part, was the responsible one who felt terrible about the way life had treated his brother, and how he had chosen to react—he thought nothing of himself.
Personality.
Timid but good-hearted. Dennis tends to be reversive in that he acts more shy around people he knows. The ‘shyness’ is of course the inward and unconscious fear that anyone who gets to know him is going to physically hurt him at some point, due to his family life. His jokes usually fall flat on their face. Despite all this, he means well and always tries to be as honest as possible.
Likes/dislikes.
Likes music, driving, being with real friends, animals, alcohol. Dislikes close-knit families (is uncomfortable with the idea), confrontations, unfriendly people.
Fears.
Being hit. Sharks.
