History.
Born Gregory Markum, the son of a wealthy banker who was originally going to law school to get a degree in order to become a district attourney. But his grades weren't the best, and so instead, discovering a joy in the political side of things, he decided to go into political science. This wasn't to be either -- again, his grades lacked, and he discovered a crippling addiction to heroin.
While languishing in a diner, the disgraced son in his family (his older brother was already an attourney), the young Agent Effe happened on him. They talked into the early hours of the morning, mostly about New York politics, and Effe decided to let Gregory harness his political brilliance where it needed to be: in a place free from the stresses of being a wealthy banker's son.
Agent Gee was soon partnered with Effe, and the two were a brilliant team. When Que was found in the Andes, it was Gee and Effe who got her back to warmth and safety, and it was Gee in particular who became like a father for the young alien. He was soon offered a series of positions which, eventually, put him in line to become the head of the entire agency, a position he took with relish. Agent Effe, working with a temporary partner through those years, was partnered and trained Agent Que when she was finally old enough. He looked over the two with a certain degree of satisfaction, glad that his friend had finally gotten a suitable replacement.
When Agent Effe grew tired and weary of field work, the two of them discussed his future, and with a heavy heart Gee reccomended that he retire. He set his old friend up with a nice house near the ocean, on the west coast, with a boat, so that he could live out the rest of his days as he deserved to -- peacefully.
Que grew depressed when her mentor left; thinking that some "fresh air" might be good for her, Gee set her up with an assignment to monitor neogotiations between the Adresc Empire and the Romersians. This ended in tragedy, as the Adresc invaded the planet and cut it off from the rest of the galaxy. When Gee finally, frantically, got a hold of her months later, Que had suffered through the many horrors of war and came back with a severe case of shell shock. Gee was regretful and partially blamed himself for what had happened, despite her reassurances that she didn't blame him.
When she had problems connecting with recruits to train, and when her training periods with them ended in disaster every time, he couldn't bring himself to be angry -- both because he knew how she was feeling, and because of his lingering guilt over the matter. He simply struggled to find her a suitable partner that might erase the shadow Effe had left.
Personality.
Gruff, short-tempered, but with a certain cleverness and automatic likeability. Agent Enn nicknamed him early on as "Agent Cranky Pants," a title that he didn't take well to but tolerated. Though Gee can sometimes seem like he hates his job and everyone involved in it, Gee cares about the people around him very much. In fact, he gets offended when they think he doesn't. There's a special place in his massive heart, even if it is hidden by his personality, for Agent Que, his surrogate daughter.
Likes/dislikes.
Enjoys quiet time by himself, fishing, coffee, talking alien politics, and a good steak. Dislikes people trying to hurry him, tight schedules, "modern" music, and incompetence.
Fears.
Has a healthy fear of Bugs; one almost ate him on a field mission, shortly after he joined MIB.
