Characteristics.
- Her hair dyed a different color every couple of weeks, Octavo is a very bold individual, though that seems to be the physical extent of it; on company time she wears very bland things to fit in with the professional image that she cultivates, and in her personal life she wears very simple clothes of the red or black variety. Tanktops, slacks, jeans, and button shirts make up a lot of her clothing vocabulary. In contrast with the simple clothing, however, Octavo wears steel-toed military boots and always has a knife on her person. Though her skin was rosy when she was little, her mostly indoor life and lack of proper nutrition has left it mostly stretched and pale white. When at work, she wears makeup on her face to try and hide this fact. Her physical build is stocky, with broad shoulders for a girl.
- She gets angry when referred to by her real name, though she usually tries to hide it, especially at her job. She hates her name with a passion.
- Owns three dogs: two rottweilers named Scylla and Charybdis, and an elkhound named Cerberus.
Family.
- Deelia Surrige (mother)
- Jerry Surrige (father)
- Peter Dasium (cousin)
- Ellen Dasium (aunt)
History.
Born to suburbanites in Calvaria, CA. She lived a fairly normal, happy childhood until Deelia Surrige was killed in a car accident. After that Octavo's father, Jerry, couldn't control her violent outbursts as the twelve-year-old tried to deal with the loss of her mother. She would go out and kill stray cats and dogs, possums and raccoons, any animal she could find that she could exercise her terrible inner rage on. Sometimes there would be kids who would experience her wrath, and she would chase them, as they cried, back to their houses and Jerry would get angry phone calls. In the end, Octavo was sent to therapy, which only managed to control her outwardly. Her therapist said that she was brilliant and needed an outlet, so Jerry got her books and a computer, and instead of harnessing her intellect and tools for good Octavo figured out how to play the stock market and how to hack computers and how to make bombs. In the end she hacked herself a degree from a great university, putting on a three-year scam for her father to convince him she'd gotten it legitimately, and then she went out for a job.
At nineteen, she was better at advising and reading the stock market than seasoned professionals. She was hired very quickly by a lawfirm with a good reputation, who kept her as an advisor. In the end she got a nice office, made thousands every year, and still lived at home. Shortly after she bought herself a car, an apartment, and before her father knew it she'd moved out and never called him again. He made repeated attempts to try to see her, but Octavo was so determined never to see him again that she faked a molestation case and got a restraining order put on him.
She goes through many roommates now (her personality understandably drives them away), spending her money how she likes, living in large homes and doing nothing that will benefit anyone else.
Personality.
Octavo's personality is dominated by abrupt and extreme shifts. For a few minutes every day, at least, she's a happy-go-lucky soul who loves to play video games and sing along to rock music. This is the one who goes to find roommates, because she gets lonely; this is also who her roommates get attached to. However, for the majority of the time, Octavo is in her other end of the spectrum -- angry, violent, cursing, spiteful, bratty, arrogant. Her roommates are usually incapable of dealing with this for long periods of time, leaving her after, at maximum, four months. Her keen intelligence, when in this violent persona, is used only for harm. Though she still loves to play video games, her time is devoted to first-person shooters rather than puzzle games or something else. This persona also enjoys drinking and bad horror movies. In either case she adores throwing her money around, buying anything and everything she can.
It is unclear, even to her, whether this is a bizarre form of DID or if it's a kind of bi-polarism.
Likes/dislikes.
Happy: video games, loud music, dancing, reading, talking about her work.
Angry: video games, guns, knives (anything sharp, really), drinking, sex, watching others suffer.
