Jefferson's Hope was a "pregnancy clinic" that was Quelden's right arm, so to speak, growing its monsters and fellow Five's soldiers. It was run by the Black Saint Order and was located roughly six miles from the California-Nevada borderline. Women who were looking for an out-of-the-way place to give birth were kidnapped for modification and experimentation, as well as anyone else who wandered in.
