Characteristics.
- Sane of mind, if a bit paranoid from his experiences.
- Says he's a realist, but is rather pessimistic all the same.
- Likes kids a lot, as they represent the new generation that will eventually take over in his place.
- Despite his age, his occupation has kept him in peak shape, as muscular as he was a decade ago. He has his brown hair cut to something just above a buzz in length, and sometimes wears reading glasses when he can be bothered to remember to wear them. He rarely wears anything that isn't a uniform.
Family.
- Linden Rowe (son)
- Martha Walker (nee Rowe) (wife)
History.
Unlike most military organizations of the past, the command position is handed down through the generations, as it was trusted that the Walker family had all turned out better than some of the others (Stephen Montaire, for one). Li Walker accepted the position after his father, Donald Walker, grew senile and passed it onto him, eventually dying of old age, a comfortable fate in the chaotic new world. Donald Walker had been the man to actually set up Mecca. His father's second in command, Stephen Montaire, helped him in his early stages of being in charge, but soon the man had started to act unbalanced and was given the powerless position of stable manager until a heart attack not long after. In his place, his son, Tobias Montaire, was promoted. But Tobias was even more unbalanced than his father, and dissatisfied with the living conditions. He staged a revolt that nearly killed Walker and most of the senior command, if Li's son had not shot Tobias in the back as he was about to land the killing blow. Distressed at their leader's defeat, the followers -- later deemed cultists -- skulked off into the night, leading Walker to believe that they'd set up a camp somewhere else.
Personality.
Tough and weathered, Walker nonetheless has a somewhat dry sense of humor and a general ease to his actions. He's seen a lot, and he can handle a lot. But he's been permanently marked by personal tragedies and is often overcome by depression when alone, thinking about the friends and colleagues he's lost.
Likes/dislikes.
Likes any time quiet enough to relax and breath easy, but he also has a weakness for beer. He dislikes anyone who won't stand up to him in some fashion, preferring people with "spines," as it were -- though he expects fully loyalty, of course, from his troops. His favorite thing to do is sit down and talk to his son, even about the most mundane things; it would devastate him if he lost Rowe.
Fears.
Losing his son and wife, failing Mecca. Also fears the growing threat of the Order of the Broken Circle.
